The study, which examined various key metrics such as median house prices, homeownership rates, competition for real estate roles, average yearly pay for realtors, and the cost of living in each state, scored New York at an impressive 62.60 out of 100.

Notably, New York boasts the third-highest median house prices in the country, with homes averaging at $649,000, reflecting the robust nature of the state’s housing market.

Despite the slightly lower homeownership rates at 54.3%, New York compensates with the fourth-highest average total income for realtors, amounting to $171,565.

Additionally, New York offers a relatively low level of competition in the real estate market, providing ample opportunities for aspiring real estate professionals to make their mark in the industry.

While California clinched the top spot as the best state to work in real estate, scoring 67.95 out of 100, New York’s position as the fourth-best state isn’t too shabby.
