Qatar’s Real Estate Market Soars with Transactions Exceeding QR1.5 Billion

In a remarkable upturn, the real estate market in Qatar has surged past the QR1.5 billion mark in December 2023, with a cumulative value of QR1.521 billion from a total of 329 transactions. This significant activity denotes a 2 percent increase in the real estate transactions index compared to the preceding month, November 2023, despite a slight dip of 3 percent in the index of traded spaces.

Major Players in the Real Estate Surge

The bustling municipalities of Doha, Al Rayyan, and Al Wakrah have emerged as the most active in terms of financial value. Doha, the bustling capital city, paced ahead with transactions amounting to a staggering QR716.299 million, thereby leading the pack. These municipalities also spearheaded the area index and the number of real estate transactions, with Doha accounting for a significant 31 percent of the total deals area.

Top Real Estate Transactions

The report shed light on the top 10 real estate transactions for the month. Six of these were anchored in the dynamic cityscape of Doha, while two each found their footing in Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah. These transactions underscore the vibrancy and liquidity of Qatar’s real estate market.

The Mortgage Landscape

Parallel to the real estate transactions, the landscape of mortgage transactions also experienced substantial activity. There were 105 mortgage transactions, totalling up to QR3.86 billion. Al Rayyan Municipality claimed the highest number of mortgage transactions, registering an impressive 40 deals.

Looking back at the second quarter of the year, Qatar’s real estate market witnessed deals amounting to QR4.375 billion, with 795 transactions registered. This period was marked by a high level of activity in May 2023, with deals worth QR1.853 billion, indicating a noteworthy increase over the same quarter in the previous year.
