A Chicago-based builder that expanded to North Texas this year is opening four new home communities.
William Ryan Homes, which builds houses priced from the $330,000s to $650,000s, announced its plans to return to the Dallas-Fort Worth market this summer after departing for some time. Founded in 1992, the company has built more than 15,000 homes in metropolitan markets including Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, Phoenix, Tampa and Fort Myers, Fla.

Ryan Homes is opening model houses and selling homes in four new D-FW communities in Anna, Royse City, Denton and Forney where it has 450 building lots.
“We are seeing a lot of demand for homes in our price range,” Scott Dettmer, Ryan Homes’ D-FW division manager, said in a statement. “Although buyers are cautious right now, they are still actively looking to move and offsetting some of the interest rate changes by tapping into the equity they have in their existing homes for down payments.”
Ryan Homes’ new North Texas locations are in West Crossing in Anna, Creekside in Royse City, Preserve at Pecan Creek in Denton and Devonshire in Forney. The builder plans to have homes ready for buyers by year’s end.
Ryan Homes has acquired control of 1,500 home sites in nine D-FW locations.
North Texas is one of the country’s top single-family home-building markets. Even with decades-high mortgage rates, builders sold almost 38,000 D-FW new homes during the first nine months of 2023.
