“This home is a seamless blend of both old and new,” a news release about the house said. “Located in the historic district of Fredericksburg, Texas, 108 N Acorn Street is a 19th century home updated for modern luxury living.
“William Kunz, a carpenter and cabinetmaker, built the original home in 1871. This four-room rock structure housed his entire family, including his 10 daughters who all lived in one room upstairs.”
According to the release, the three-bedroom, five-bathroom house underwent renovations in 2006 that included the front living room, the bar and a 600-bottle wine cellar. But old structures still remained, including Kunz’s “original cabinet workshop.”
When new owners bought the home in 2020, they added on to the renovations to “further transform the property into a resort-like paradise,” the release said. Those renovations included:
-
Pool
-
Pool house
-
Updated kitchen
-
Updated primary bathroom
“The upstairs of the original 1871 home was renovated into a guest suite, complete with its own updated bathroom and a hidden privacy pocket door,” the release says. “Tucked under the eaves, this large but cozy upstairs space can now accommodate up to four people. It also has its own outside entrance.”
Outside includes:
-
Fireplace
-
Outdoor kitchen
-
Old windmill
-
Porch
-
Hot tub
